Permanent Residents

Mookie
Approx Birthday:
Neutered Male

He is a large cat with vertigo problems (and so he can’t travel).  He is a permanent resident and the official greeter at Croatan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary.  He was found as a 2-week-old baby and was bottle-fed.  He is often found grooming himself in this position (don't worry, we just placed the bottle there for laughs).

Angel
Approximate Birthday: June 1992
Spayed Female

The nice volunteers at CARS pulled me out of local kill shelter when my time had come to an end.  They said that since I’d already led such a long life, I deserved to spend the rest of it in a nice peaceful place.

I am very loving and always try to be the center of attention.  I enjoy talking and cuddling.

I have a thyroid disorder, which requires medicine daily.

Magic
Approximate Birthday: July 2007
Neutered Male

Magic has an amazingly playful personality.  Despite having been very ill, he his enthusiasm and willingness to help volunteers has shone through.  He has a fabulous personality. Magic has an amazingly playful personality.

Magic’s first owner had to go to a nursing home that did not allow animals.  Recently, he’s developed a blocked salivary gland under tongue.  It has been drained several times, but continues to refill.  To prevent putting Magic through these periodic procedures, he needs to have surgery to remove the blockage.  This is very pricey.

Ginny
Approximate Birthday: April 2006
Spayed Female

Ginny is a true diva and has an assertive personality.  She is a true calico.  She is a permanent resident at CARS due to her terrible allergies.

“Little” Grey

Although I’m not so little now, I was a tiny kitten.  I was originally a feral cat, but decided I like life better indoors although I have shed some of my outdoor habits.  I love to be rubbed and lick your toes if you’re wearing flip flops!

  Mama Zeeta

I’m a large cat with a lot of personality. I love food and never let anyone forget it’s mealtime. I’m very happy lying around with my feline friends at CARS, just as long as the volunteers don’t try to groom me.
  Scooter

Scooter has recovered nicely from severe head trauma. He still walks occasional circles to the right and can’t see from his left eye, but can keep up with the other cats.

Approximate Birthday: May 2006
 Spayed Female

My job at CARS is to make sure that no one gets lonely. I always have something to say and love conversation! I am great with other cats and dogs. I can often times be found snuggled up with one of the dogs in the house at naptime! But, don't worry, I also like to snuggle with people too! I love to watch birds and to look out the windows. I would be a great hairdresser if I were a person, since I always try to make sure your hair looks good.

Lucky

I am one of the senior gentlemen at CARS.  I enjoy quiet days on the back of a couch or on top of a cat tree.
