Croatan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary

My one eye has a scratch, so it looks like I have a cold, but I do not. It does not need surgery, and I can see just fine out of it! I like to play with my friends, but I am a little shy around people. I was rescue from behind a local grocery store on Valentine’s weekend 2009 with my 4 siblings. They have all been adopted, so it’s just me and my mom left. I’m ready to find my forever home!

I am a fun-loving guy. I love to sit in laps while people are on the computer. I used to live at a local kill shelter. There, I was used to test dogs to see if they like dogs. As such, I do not like dogs anymore. When my time was up at the shelter, CARS brought me to their rescue so I could find a forever home.

I love to play with toys, especially ones made of pipe cleaners! I get along well with other cats and dogs.

I am a small-sized tuxedo. I am sweet, but a little shy at first. Once you get to know me, I am spunky and sassy. I will not be a lap cat, but will provide you with great entertainment. I never get bored. I always need to have a good scratching post.

I can be a lot of fun and love to play. I like to get attention. Right now, I have a bunch of friends that I live with, but I would prefer to be an only child when I’m adopted. I like to snack on McDonald’s french fries (but not too often- I need to watch my weight).

I am very shy at first, but become very outgoing once we’re friends. I need a home that is not too loud and is willing to work with me while I adjust to my new life. I LOVE to play with the laser. It really brings out my personality and athletic ability.

I moved to New Bern after Hurricane Katrina hit my home, New Orleans, when I was a kitten. The great volunteers who later formed CARS found me, took care of me, and brought me up to NC. After all the excitement I had as a kitten, I’m ready for a nice quiet adult life. I am very shy at first, but once I warm up to you, you’ll have a hard time ever remembering I was shy.

I am a very playful and affectionate cat. I love to give kisses and to sit in your lap. Sometimes I have a hard time adapting to a new environment, so CARS thinks that it would be better if I was adopted with one of my siblings or one of my friends. But, don’t worry- it just means double the fun and double the love!

I have a unique “Z” shape at the tip of my tail, which is where I get my name. I am a regal, gentle cat who loves to be admired. I need a quiet house, which will give me the attention I deserve.

I had a tragic start to life. My first humans did not want me and tried to throw me off the Neuse River Bridge. I did not make it over; I had head trauma, a broken leg, and some internal injuries. Now, I’m healthy, but very shy. I will never be a lap cat, and some days I will spend most of my time under a bed of sofa. I would love to go home with you, so long as you realize that I probably won’t snuggle and watch movies with you. I LOVE to chase the laser light. It really brings out my personality. I enjoy spending time with the other cats.

I am a beautiful cat with bull’s eye tabby markings. I do need to go on a diet and get exercise. My foster mom says I have split personalities- sometimes I’m sweet and cuddly, but sometimes I am own cat.

I am the face of CARS due to my peaceful nature and beautiful face. I love having my picture taken and playing with my friends.

Camera Shy

I am declawed, so I won’t scratch you or your furniture. But, I might play nibble when you’re rubbing me. Don’t worry though, because my foster mom says I am just as sweet as can be! I am very playful and really like to chase the laser light! I prefer a home without dogs and without kids. While I do get along with other cats, I would love to be only cat in the family, so I can be put on a pedestal.

I am an older cat- with a long history- who still has a lot of love to give! I was hit by a car, which left me unconscious with a head trauma and a knee injury. I was brought into the veterinary clinic (where the President of CARS was working) by a wonderful FedEx driver who saw me get hit. Although I’m healthy right now, I don’t like to be picked up. I am shy at first, but once we become friends, you’ll never believe I had been shy. I love to be rubbed. I will sit in our lap (or snuggled right beside you) and purr all day long.

We are best friends and want to go to a home together. We would like a quiet home without children. We need a loving home that will give us a lot of attention.

I am a very independent, laid-back cat. I have a lot of personality and love to play. I also enjoy scratching on my scratching post. I have seasonal allergies, but am otherwise very healthy.

I am an energetic, playful cat. The volunteers at CARS say I would make a great family cat. If you would like more than one cat, I can be adopted with one of my siblings or friends. I don’t think I would like going into a home with other cats.

I am considered a special needs cat, because I have hip dysplasia and food allergies.

I am a very sweet cat, but I don't like dogs or most men. I came to CARS when my owner got married. I didn't like her husband and everyone has figured out since then that I am scared of men in general. I am also scared of dogs. I am okay with other cats though, but would prefer to be an only cat, so that I can have all of your attention to myself. I like to play and to snuggle. I LOVE to share a bed. I'm looking for a new forever home (hopefully with someone who will stay single!)

I had a rough start on life, living in the bushes in a very commercial area. My mom and I were lucky enough to be found by the great volunteers at CARS in late fall. Just like any young tuxedo cat, I love to run and play. I am working on becoming a lap cat when I’m not playing with my toys.

I am very shy and need some TLC. With some love and a little bit of work, I will be a fabulous addition to your home! When I am by myself or with other cats, I love to play with my friends and with my toys.

We are brother and sister and very good friends. My sister, Rice, is very people and camera shy. As you can see, I’m not! We love to play together and snuggle with each other at naptime. We need to be adopted together.

All of the volunteers say I am truly a rescue favorite. I had a very hard start to my life. When I came to live at CARS, you would never have thought I was such a beautiful cat with long, soft orange fur. I was feral and had terribly matted fur. With some love, grooming, and time, I now love being a lap cat. Although I can get startled at first, I do love being picked up and rubbed. I also really enjoy running around and playing in their fenced in "outside" enclosure during the day. Everyone thinks I am truly a remarkable cat!

I am a very active dog. I love to run and would make a great running companion, but that means I need a large fenced in yard. I was mistreated, which makes me a little timid, but I love to please. As you can see my tongue is quite large and equipped to giving you large slobbery kisses! I am great with kids, other dogs and cats. I already know how to do a few tricks like sit, shake and down. I am crate trained. We are working on "stay", and leash training, which I am handling very well. If you look closely, you'll notice I have 1 blue eye and 1 brown one.

I am a cat with a lot of purrrrsonality. I like to be in your lap all the time! Because of my long hair, I need a lot of brushing and grooming, or to simply be periodically shaved down. I don’t play with the laser light, but really enjoy a catnip treat.

I ain't no hound-dog! But, I get my name from my black "sideburns." I am a lover. I can keep myself company when you're not home, but like to be held when you are. I also am a great gymnast and can be found doing nightly routines on the cat tree at CARS. I am considered special needs, because I need my eyes cleaned frequently.

I am the mouth of the south! I've always got something to say, but don't worry, it's always good and friendly! I'm a very beautiful, loving cat. Will you be my new forever home?

I LOVE to love.  I love to receive love and to give love.  If you rub my head, back, or tummy, I’ll hug your arm in return.  If you’re lucky, I’ll give you a love nibble to show you how thankful I am.

I like other dogs and cats and can often be found snuggled up with some of my friends.
